| January 01, 2008 Dear Fellow Motorcyclist, Thank you for inquiring about the Southern California Motorcycling Association's USA FOUR CORNERS TOUR. This tour was designed to give long distance touring riders a fairly flexible event with multiple awards for successful completion. You may apply for this event as soon as you like and actually start the tour weeks later. You are not considered a starter until you have visited the first corner (checkpoint) of your choice. After you have visited your first corner (checkpoint) you must visit the other three corners within the allowed time of 21 days. Thereafter, you are a successful finisher and you will receive your awards. This tour allows you the additional flexibility of determining your own route and sequence of checkpoints. For instance, you may choose to start at San Ysidro, CA., go up the coast to Blaine, WA., cross Canada to Madawaska, ME., go down the coast to finish in Key West, FL. (You do not have to return to the first corner to qualify as a finisher). A full money back refund is available if you are unable to start or you change your mind within 90 days after receipt of the starter package. All you have to do is return the complete starter package, unused, by the end of the 90 days and we will gladly send you a full refund. You have two calendar years to start the tour. Subsequent to the start, you have 21 days to finish the tour. Since we offer a full refund, we do not permit transfer or sale of the starter package. No refunds after you visit the first corner (checkpoint). The challenge of the event is to complete your visit to all four corners of the USA, on your motorcycle, within 21 days total allowed time, despite inclement weather, need for mechanical repairs, sleeping, and dining, etc. No time extensions will be given to anyone for any reason. An exclusive group of drivers and passengers have visited all four corners at reasonable speeds and without unreasonable hardship to man, woman or machine, all within 21 days. If you have always wanted to tour the United States, have the time, and would like to try the USA FOUR CORNERS TOUR. You must be a member of the Southern California Motorcycling Association (SCMA membership form). Fill out the AMA release form (the RED must show after printing and be witnessed to be accepted). Mail both along with the information sheet; together with the $100.00 and the appropriate membership fee. Make check payable to USA Four Corners Tour.
Receipt of the signed AMA release form and Information Sheet is considered proof that the rules have been read, understood, agreed to and that they will be followed. This event is open all year long.
