U.S.A. Four Corners Tour By David L. Johnson The Four Corners rules are simple; you have 21 days to ride your motorcycle to these four corner cities of the United States; San Ysidro, CA Blaine, WA Madawaska, ME and Key West, FL. You may visit the four corners in any sequence and by any route that you desire. You do not have to return to the first corner to finish the event. In 2006 I became Chairman of USA 4Corners Tour and started keeping records of finishers, average age, days traveled, total miles for the year by all, and miles divided by the number of finishers.
2006 Longest Tour was 9,968 miles by Robert Loop; Simi Valley, CA 2007 Longest Tour was 9,513 miles by Robert Loer; Medford, OR 2008 Longest Tour was 9,647 miles by Charles Lamb; Hopewell, VA 2009 Longest Tour was 9,411 miles by Jack Bayer; Duluth, GA 2006 Shortest Tour was 6,712 miles by Bruce Shrader; Moseley, VA 2007 Shortest Tour was 6,476 miles by Charles Founier; Edmunston NB, Canada 2008 Shortest Tour was 6,354 miles by Ben Kozak; Wilmette, IL 2008 Shortest Tour was 6,401 miles by Suzanne Schneider; Kelseyville, CA You must mail from each of the corner checkpoints with the self addressed envelope provided by SCMA to show proof of visit; (a) A gas receipt from a service station in the checkpoint city, (write your motorcycle license number on the receipt). (b) The postmark date, your speedometer reading miles/kilometers, and one phone number from a location listed on the corner map furnished. (c) You must take a photo of your motorcycle at each corner checkpoint. The background must be of a post office, police station or a landmark that clearly shows the checkpoint city name. The rider's package includes; rules, four corner maps, four stamped envelopes addresses to USA Four Corners Tour. Successful finishers receive a scrap book with the certificates, your photo's in front of each corner landmark. gas receipts, a miles/kilometers recap date sheet of the four corners, and the postmarked envelops. Also included are the fancy finishers pin, small and large cloth patch and SCMA decal showing the four corners logo. This is truly a class event. The Four Corners folks also host an annual banquet in February in the Los Angeles area. The USA Four Corners Tour is operated by the Southern California Motorcycle Association (SCMA). The cost of the Four Corners Tour is $100.00. Information is available via email or regular mail. From Chairman David L. Johnson at chairman@usa4corners.org | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
